Storm clouds gather in ominous silence,

darkening by the moment and laying in wait,

suddenly a clap of thunder shatters the calm,

and theĀ  sky lights up bright as day.

Rumbling like a caged lion’s growl,

the storm erupts into gales of rain and bolts of electricity,

power ceases and a darkness falls

as the wind blows like a gray wolf’s howl.

As if an invisible hand has flipped a switch,

the storm ceases as quickly as it began,

a rainbow appears high over the world,

and a freshly washed day begins anew.

You got under my flesh

crawled into my heart

now I want you out

but how do I start?

You wormed your way in

slipped by with your charm

dazzled me with your stories

can’t you see you are causing harm?

I wanted to believe you

so I forced sense to abandon

it’s not all your fault

I certainly had a hand in.

Endings are never easy

I’ll miss the times we shared

it is tearing me apart

if only I hadn’t cared.

Saying goodbye is never easy

walking away can be rough

but change is needed

and staying would be even more tough.

This poem is just an expression of the way some of our relationships in life are toxic and sadly they sometimes need to be flushed out.

When the day dawns to a bright blue sky,

do you ever stop to wonder why?

Why is the sky such a vibrant blue?

Was it an accident or God’s chosen hue?

When fluffy white clouds drift way up high,

do you ever stop to wonder why?

Why do clouds form playful shapes above?

did gasses burst or was it made by God’s love?

When birds soar and are content to fly,

do you ever stop to wonder why?

Why are birds born to fly upon the Earth?

did some mutation take place or did God give them birth?

As I sit and gaze upon the world around me,

I find it so very hard to see,

How others can claim an accident is it,

when all I see is the world God gave as a gift.

Your warm smile sets my heart aflutter

melting me like a dollop of creamy butter

Your eyes twinkle with a glittering gleam

I stare into them and drift into daydream

Your voice soothes my most savage mood

calming me with that charm you exude

A diamond amongst a crate of coal

my love you forever stole

Never will I find cause to flee

beside you eternally I will be.
